Box Score PHILADELPHIA -- Redshirt freshman Brian Vega (Dover, N.J.) scored his first career goal with 12 minutes, three seconds, to play in regulation to lift Felician College to a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer victory over host Philadelphia University before 305 fans at Ravenhill Field on Saturday afternoon.
Felician (4-3-2, 3-2-2 CACC) handed the Rams their first CACC loss of the season. All four of the Golden Falcons' victories in 2012 have come by 1-0 scores.
On Saturday, Felician survived an 18-11 shot disadvantage, and successfully defended eight corner kicks as well. The game remained scoreless until Ram goalkeeper Neil Kwiatkowski (Schenectady, N.Y.) made a diving stop of a 78th minute shot by Felician junior midfielder Azedine Maazouzi (Brussels, Belgium). Vega was the first to the rebound and tapped the ball into an open net.
Golden Falcon sophomore keeper Anthony Tsouhnikas (Clifton, N.J.) made five saves, including one with 12 seconds remaining, to earn his third solo shutout of the season. Kwiatkowski picked up three saves for the Rams (4-2-4, 2-1-3).
