Bloomfield Stops Felician, 3-1

Box Score

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Felician College scored in the sixth minute, but fell victim to a come-from-behind 3-1 victory by host Bloomfield College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer action on Tuesday night at Foley Field.

Felician (2-11-1, 2-7-1 CACC) was the first team on the scoreboard. A long throw-in by Chris Hall (Newcastle, England) found the foot of junior midfielder Rafa Coronel (Mexico City, Mexico), who finished five minutes, 17 seconds, into the contest. It was Coronel's team-leading fifth goal of the season.

With 5:33 showing on the first-half clock, the Deacons used a different kind of re-start to equalize. Daniel Oduro (Kumasi, Ghana) was the first man to touch a Hamilton Pereira (Newark, N.J.) corner kick, put the ball in the back of the net, and the teams entered intermission tied at 1-1.

Bloomfield (4-11, 4-5) asserted itself in the second period, amassing edges of 13-3 in shots and 4-0 in corner kicks for the final 45 minutes. The Deacons connected on another corner to take the lead in the 58th minute, this time with Amin Miller (Mondeville, Jamaica) striking the kick and Claude Allen (Kingston, Jamaica) doing the scoring. An unassisted Allen goal with 4:41 left to play secured the victory for the Deacons.

Bloomfield freshman goalkeeper Arthur Clapot (Annecy, France) earned the victory with four saves. Senior Daniel Wroblewski (Brick, N.J.) stopped five shots for the Golden Falcons. The Deacons finished with a 19-8 lead in shots. Hall joined Allen and Bloomfield's Shaunavon deSouza (Montego Bay, Jamaica) for game-high honors with five shots.
