Box Score LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Felician College men's soccer team combined with visiting American International College to produce just seven shots on goal in 110 minutes in the teams' non-conference 0-0 draw on Monday evening at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
The total shot count for the night was 11-9 in favor of American International (5-8-3). But the goalkeepers were rarely challenged. Felician junior Anthony Tsouhnikas (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) made two saves, and the Golden Falcon defense cleared another ball off of the goal line. It was the first shutout of the season for Tsouhnikas and the sixth of his career.
The Golden Falcons (3-11-2) forced AIC senior Jason Ryan (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veterans Memorial) to made four saves. Ryan earned his second solo shutout of 2013. Neither netminder had to make a stop in the 20 minutes of extra time.
Felician's best scoring opportunity came early in the second half. Following a corner kick by Alex Jean (Notre Dame de Londres, France/Jean Mermoz), Golden Falcon leading scorer Rafa Coronel (Mexico City, Mexico/Thomas Jefferson Institute) clanged a shot off of the crossbar.
In the closing seconds of the opening period, Yellow Jacket sophomore Tevonne Morris (Trinidad/St. Augustine Secondary) pushed a header just wide of the far post. AIC also produced two corner kicks in the second overtime, but came up empty. Morris led all players in the contest with three shots.
Felician played its first scoreless tie since Oct. 25, 2007, against Caldwell College.
The Golden Falcons conclude their season with a 3 p.m. home match against Caldwell on Wednesday.
