Holy Family Men's Soccer Comes Back To Top Golden Falcons, 2-1

Box Score

PHILADELPHIA – Holy Family University broke a 1-1 tie by scoring with 12 minutes, 39 seconds, to play in regulation and held on for a 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer victory over visiting Felician College on a sunny, warm Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.

The eventual game-winning goal was tallied by Holy Family freshman midfielder Christopher Tracey (Abington, Pa.). Felician senior goalkeeper Daniel Wroblewski (Brick, N.J.) made a save on a shot off the foot of HFU junior Keith Crews (Warrington, Pa.), but was unable to corral the rebound. Tracey was the first player to the loose ball and was able to push it past Wroblewski for his second marker of the season.

Felician (1-7-1, 1-4-1) led, 1-0, at halftime on the strength of junior Rafa Coronel's (Mexico City, Mexico) team-high third goal of 2013. Coronel jumped to get his head on a Corey Telfer (North Brunswick, N.J.) cross and found the back of the net in the 25th minute.

But the Tigers (4-5-1, 4-3) equalized just 3:27 into period two when Tom Kostick (Philadelphia, Pa.) set up sophomore striker Aiah Mbriwah (Abington, Pa.). The Golden Falcons have been outscored, 5-1, in the second half during their current three-game losing streak.

Felician got off two shots after Tracey put HFU ahead, both by Telfer. Tiger sophomore keeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J.) made a save in the 85th minute, and another Telfer effort in the final 20 seconds missed high. The Golden Falcons were out-shot, 13-9, with Telfer the only visiting player to get off more than one. Crews led all players on the day with four shots.

Ongaro earned the victory with three saves. Wroblewski stopped six shots for Felician.
