Box Score LYNDHURST, N.J. – Felician College fell behind, 3-0, in the first half of its 4-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer loss to visiting Holy Family University on Saturday night at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. Senior midfielder Chris Hall (Newcastle, England/St. Cuthbert's) scored both goals for Felician.
Junior forward Aiah Mbriwa (Abington, Pa./Philmont Christian Academy) recorded a goal and an assist for Holy Family (4-4-3, 2-3-2 CACC). Mbriwa set the tone for the Tigers, when, just two minutes, three seconds, into the match, he headed home a cross from teammate Justin Hiltwine (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge). Hiltwine's fifth assist of the season tied him for the CACC lead.
The Tigers padded their lead by striking from long distance. In the 24th minute, Kevin McCollick (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) hit a long ball on the bounce and volleyed it over the head of Felician goalkeeper Anthony Tsouhnikas (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) and under the crossbar. HFU senior defender Kevan Melly (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) turned in his first career score by pouncing on a loose ball in the 37th minute and blasting a diagonal shot from more than 30 yards away inside the far post.
Fewer than 11 minutes into period two, the Tigers struck again when Mbriwa laid a ball off for James Annobili (London, England/Wissahickon [Pa.]),who took a touch and curved the ball inside the near post. The extra insurance proved to be important for HFU when senior midfielder Alex Jean (Notre Dame de Londres, France/Jean Mermoz) connected with Hall twice as the clock wound down. But when Hall headed in a Jean corner kick to cut the Felician deficit to 4-2, only 4:28 remained in regulation, and the visitors were able to run out the clock without further incident.
Each team took 10 shots, with Felician's Hall and Rafa Coronel (Mexico City, Mexico/Thomas Jefferson Institute) getting off a game-high three each. Tsouhnikas made four first-half saves.
