RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Nyack College erased an early 14-point deficit to earn a 62-58 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball victory over host Felician College on Wednesday evening at Job Gymnasium. The match-up was Felician's 2014-15 home opener and the CACC lid-lifter for both schools.

Nyack (1-2, 1-0 CACC) received 13 points, 15 rebounds, and three steals from junior forward Jamie McKeither (Laurel, Md./Mead). Felician senior forward Ashley Morris (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) turned in 16 points, 13 rebounds, three blocked shots and four steals.

Trailing, 5-4, in the early-going, the Golden Falcons (0-3, 0-1) held Nyack scoreless for a stretch of five minutes, long enough to open up their largest advantage of the night, 19-5. Freshman guard Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn./HS in the Community) scored 10 points during the spurt. With Felician still ahead by 10, the Warriors used a three-point field goal by Jessica Logemann (Seminole, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) and a Raven Makins (Laurel, Md./Central Connecticut State University) buzzer-beater to pull to within 32-27 at halftime.

Morris connected on a second-chance jumper with 11:56 remaining in the contest to give her team a 47-41 edge, only to see the Warriors embark on a a 9-0 run over the next six minutes of game action. A three-pointer by Felician freshman Danelle Gibson (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) knotted things at 50-50 with 5:54 to play, but that would prove to be her team's final field goal of the game.

Nyack went ahead for good on a Kelli Smoot (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) lay-in at the 4:54 mark, and extended to a five-point edge with a three-ball from Logemann at 3:35. Felician converted at the foul line to get back to within 59-58 and 1:56 left, but after drawing a charging foul, the hosts missed on a go-ahead shot. Makins scored at the 1:00 mark for a three-point Warrior bulge, and the Golden Falcons went 0 for 4 from the field and 0 for 2 at the foul line in the final 60 seconds.

Felician was hampered by committing 25 turnovers and shooting 13 percent (2 for 15) from three-point range. The Warriors survived a 35-percent night (9 for 26) on free throws.

Junior center Shabreka Edwards (Ashburn, Md./Turner County) (6-11 FG) topped Nyack with 14 points, and Makins totaled eight points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Osmond scored 12 points for Felician, and Gibson ended up with 11.
