Box Score NYACK, N.Y. – Junior guard Lamine Cooper (Willingboro, N.J.) scored 13 of his career-high 18 points in the second half to help the Felician College men's basketball team pull away for a 68-55 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over host Nyack College on Tuesday night at Bowman Gymnasium. Senior forward J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J.) totaled 10 points and a career-best 17 rebounds for Felician (2-13, 2-7 CACC).
The game featured 13 ties and 10 lead changes before the Golden Falcons outscored Nyack, 14-3, over the game's final 4 ½ minutes. Senior Jeyvi Miavivululu (Paterson, N.J.) and freshman Marko Kozul (Astoria, N.Y.) scored seven points apiece for Felician in its ending run.
Nyack (4-11, 3-5) led by as many as six points on two occasions in the first half before settling for a 30-28 halftime advantage. The teams were never separated by more than four points for the first 14 ½ minutes of period two. Felician took the lead for good on Kozul's tie-breaking three-point field goal with 6:46 to go in regulation.
A lay-up by Warrior senior Nick Moore (Sicklerville, N.J.) brought the hosts to within a 54-52 deficit and 4:39 remaining. Miavivululu, however, tallied the game's next five points to jump-start an 11-0 Felician run for a 13-point lead at the 1:21 mark.
Miavivululu finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots, and Kozul scored 16 points in 17 bench minutes. Felician held the Warriors to 31-percent shooting from the floor. Moore scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds and senior guard Khalid Samuels (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) ended up with 14 points and five assists for Nyack. Warrior sophomore Will Robinson (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) came off the bench to score nine points and grab 13 rebounds.
Felician faces a seven-day layoff before hosting Post University on Jan. 21.
