Box Score LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Georgian Court University tallied six first-half goals, including four in the first 20-plus minutes, and went on to an 8-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer victory over visiting Felician College on Saturday afternoon at the GCU Track & Field Complex.
Georgian Court junior forward Michael Clarke (Essex, England) registered three goals and an assist while playing only 46 minutes. Classmate Andres Adum (Guayaquil, Ecuador) picked up a goal and two assists for the Lions (3-4-2, 2-2-2 CACC).
Adum had a hand in GCU's first three goals. Just one minute, 29 seconds, into the match, he split two defenders with a pass to the foot of Arturo Sanchez (Kearny, N.J.), who finished to the upper right. Adum assisted on Clarke's first goal, in the 10th minute, and Clarke returned the favor 16:04 into play, sending a cross from the left that Adum was able to convert into a score.
Felician (2-8, 1-5) was able to avoid being shut out when freshman midfielder Dean Wright (Dublin, Ireland) came up with his first career goal with 5:23 left to play. Junior defender Tony Leontaris (Blairstown, N.J.) assisted on the play, earning his first collegiate point. However, just 10 seconds later, Clarke completed his hat trick and concluded the game's scoring.
The Lions earned a 26-9 advantage in shots, with Clarke topping all players with six attempts. Freshman goalkeeper Wilson Perez (Hackensack, N.J.) came off the bench to make eight second-half saves for Felician. Junior Aleksandar Milosevic (Belgrade, Serbia) sopped seven shots in 81 scoreless minutes for the Lions.
GCU junior Elliott Baldwin (Oxford, England) had a goal and an assist, scoring from 35 yards away in the 39th minute.
