Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The University of the Sciences posted a .239 team attack percentage, including a .373 mark in the final two sets, to earn a come-from-behind 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-8) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference interdivisional women's volleyball victory over visiting Felician College on Saturday afternoon at Bobby Morgan Arena.
Sophomore middle blocker Shannon Hood (East Orange, N.J.) and freshman outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) each amassed 10 kills and three blocks for Felician (5-22, 3-12 CACC). Hood hit .381 for the match.
Despite losing their last three matches, the Golden Falcons remain just one game behind Dominican (N.Y.) College for fourth place in the CACC North Division, and with it, the division's final conference playoff berth. Both teams have four matches remaining, including a date with each other this Wednesday in Rutherford, N.J.
On Saturday, Felician committed 31 attack errors and was held to a .034 hitting percentage. The Devils (5-15, 4-11 CACC) held advantages of 74-58 in digs, 8-5 in blocks and 9-2 in service aces.
USciences senior middle Caitlyn Crawford (Covington, Ohio) hit .341 with 22 kills, 13 digs and five blocks. Crawford put down the 1,000th kill of her career during the first set. The Devils received 12 kills each from senior Desirae Lair (Las Vegas, Nev.) and freshman Brooke Witmer (Manheim, Pa.), while senior setter Hannah Boulaiche (Clifton Heights, Pa.) turned in 42 assists and 11 digs.
Felician received 23 assists and 12 digs from senior setter Susie McKeever (North Fort Myers, Fla.). Junior libero Niccole Soriano (Elizabeth, N.J.) paced the Golden Falcon defense with 16 digs.
