Box Score 2 LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Felician University women's volleyball team lost, 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-19), to host Georgian Court University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Saturday morning at the GCU Wellness Center. The contest was the first of a tri-match which also included Assumption College. Later on Saturday, the Golden Falcons dropped a non-league decision to Assumption, 3-0 ()25-14, 25-7, 25-10).
Felician sophomore outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) combined for 19 kills in the two matches, nearly half of her team's offensive production on the day.
Against Georgian Court, the Golden Falcons were limited to an .024 team attack percentage. Felician came up with seven service aces, including three by junior Lanyse Castro (Elizabeth, N.J.), but allowed 12.
Senior Jennifer Smith (Redlands, Calif.) led the Lions with eight kills and nine digs. GCU senior setter Kelsey Oliver (Scio, Ore.) produced 31 assists and four aces while guiding the offense to a .279 attack percentage.
Calero came up with nine kills and nine digs and Amanda Coccia (Rahway, N.J.) also had nine digs for Felician. Freshman setter Charlotte Greek (Menifee, Calif.) amassed 16 assists and seven digs.
Felician took on the Greyhounds in the day's next match, only to see Assumption hit .412 and commit just four attack errors. Assumption accumulated advantages of 10-1 in aces and 48-35 in digs.
Greyhound junior middle blocker Olivia Burke (Salem, N.H.) hit .524 with 12 kills, and Assumption sophomore outside Kellie Smith (Richland, Mich.) had nine kills and eight digs while hitting .643. The Greyhounds received 32 assists, eight digs and three aces from junior setter Kiki Romanik (San Rafael, Calif.).
Calero had 10 kills and six digs and Castro added a team-high nine digs for Felician (0-23, 0-13 CACC).
The day's final match saw Assumption (5-13) down Georgian Court (13-14, 10-3), 3-1 (14-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-22).
