ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose posted a .304 attack percentage in earning a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-14) non-conference women's volleyball victory over visiting Felician University on Tuesday night at Nolan Gymnasium. Felician was playing in its 2017 season opener, while the match began the year's home schedule for Saint Rose.

Golden Knight freshman Graciela Cruz (Lawrence, N.Y.) led all players with 16 kills on the night. Junior Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) hit .400 with six kills for the Golden Falcons.

Set 1 was tied on seven occasions, the final time at 16-16. Felician was within 20-19 after a Saint Rose attack error, but the hosts scored the final five points of the set, including a pair of kills by Shayna Webber (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) to earn the victory and the early lead.

Felician jumped out to a 5-1 Set 2 lead, but the Golden Knights recovered to tie the set at 10-10. Leading, 14-11, Saint Rose captured nine consecutive rallies to pull away. Felician scored five of the next six points but eventually succumbed.

Saint Rose never trailed in the third set, holding the Golden Falcons to a negative attack percentage to close out the match.

The Golden Knights (3-2) amassed statistical advantages of 49-18 in kills, 39-19 in digs, and 7-2 in aces. Senior Maddy Halverson (Minneapolis, Minn.) hit .500 with eight kills for Saint Rose, and junior setter Sam Kubik (Chicago, Ill.) totaled five kills and 38 assists..

Sophomore libero Lauren Mack (Valparaiso, Ind.) had a team-high nine digs for Felician.

The Golden Falcons play two matches, one each on Friday and Saturday, in this weekend's Millersville University Marauder Clash.
