Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Felician University fell behind, 38-21, at halftime, and could not recover during its eventual 72-50 non-conference women's basketball loss to Daemen College on Saturday afternoon at the Voller Athletic Center. The game began play on the second and final day of the four-team Redhawks Classic, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College.
Daemen (1-1) was the 2021 NCAA Division II East Region champion.
Graduate guard Katelyn Andres (North Bergen, N.J.) led Felician (0-2) with 11 points, and freshman teammate Mimmi Hahne (Sollentuna, Sweden) netted 10 points. The Wildcats received 24 points and 11 rebounds from senior forward Kate Titus (Penfield, N.Y.).
Felician, which never led, fell behind, 8-1, in the opening minutes. Daemen translated that start into an 18-12 edge at the end of one period, then pulled away during the second. A Titus putback extended the Wildcats' advantage to 34-16 with 3:05 to play until halftime, a spread which Daemen extended to 17 points by the break.
The Wildcats' largest lead came at 68-40 following a putback by Tiara Filbert (Batavia, N.Y.) with 3:49 remaining in the third quarter.
The Golden Falcons were held to 31-percent shooting from the floor. Sophomore Briana Lee (Jersey City, N.J.) scored eight points with 12 rebounds for Felician.
Felician travels to Mercy College on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. contest in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
