Box Score BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Felician University sophomore swing player Briana Lee (Jersey City, N.J.) set a season high with 25 points and matched another with 14 rebounds, but the Golden Falcons were defeated by host Bloomfield College, 84-56, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Bloomfield College Gymnasium. The game marked the end of the 2021 regular season for Felician.
The Golden Falcons are locked into the No. 7 seed for next week's CACC Championship tournament and will face No. 2 seed Dominican (N.Y.) College on Tuesday, March 2, in Orangeburg, N.Y., in first-round play.
Sophomore DaShanique Ruffin (Paterson, N.J.) led four Bloomfield double-figure scorers with 22 points and seven rebounds. Junior teammate Jaylah Bennett (Newark, N.J.) totaled 15 points and six rebounds.
After Felician (0-10, 0-10 CACC) scored the game's first five points, the Bears took control, moving ahead, 20-7, after eight minutes of action. Bloomfield led, 24-10, at the end of one period, and stretched to 44-18 at halftime.
Sophomore forward Tiara Mahorn (Irvington, N.J.) recorded 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Felician. The Golden Falcons out-shot Bloomfield, 43-40 percent, but were hampered by 34 turnovers.
Bloomfield improved to 5-4 both overall and in CACC play and traveled to Caldwell University on Sunday.
