Box Score LYNDHURST, N.J. – Felician University was defeated by visiting East Stroudsburg University, 6-0, in non-conference men's soccer action on Friday evening at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. The game marked the 2021 season opener for both schools.
Felician was beginning a season with a home game for the first time since 2007.
Sophomore Colby Raymond (Kingwood, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) recorded two goals and two assists and junior Bradley Turocy (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) also scored twice for East Stroudsburg. Warrior senior Lucas Marques (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Miguel Couro) recorded three assists.
ESU moved ahead seven minutes, 10 seconds, into the action when Turocy knocked home a rebound of a George Hernandez (Paterson, N.J./PCTI) save. The Warriors, led, 2-0, at halftime. Turocy struck again in the 52nd minute before the visitors tacked on three scores in a late six-minute stretch for the final margin.
The Warriors out-shot Felician, 20-2. Hernandez, a fifth-year senior making his first start in goal for the Golden Falcons since 2017, totaled eight saves. Sophomore Danny Bzura (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and freshman Cristian Mayorga (Dover, N.J./Dover) attempted the Felician shots; both were blocked by the ESU defense.
The match was the Felician debut of first-year head coach Brandon Levine.
The Golden Falcons continue a season-opening three-game homestand by entertaining Shepherd University on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
