Box Score NEWARK, DEL. – Felician men's soccer ties to top-seed Wilmington University (Del.) in a 2-2 match on Saturday afternoon at WU Athletics Complex in Delaware.
Felician went down early on a goal by Wilmington junior Marius Skattum Dahl, assisted by classmate Yohan Kim, in the 15th minute of the match. In the second half, the Wildcats scored again to take the lead, 2-0, on a goal by sophomore Marcus Hedemann in the 56th minute, assisted by classmate Marcus Hedemann.
The Golden Falcons answered back less than a minute later on a goal by freshman Dario Gomez (Lake Worth, Fla.). Felician's Salvador Rang (Door, Netherlands) received the ball and chipped it one-touch over the defender's head for Gomez, who took a touch and then placed the ball around Wilmington goalie, Bas Markus. In the 72nd minute, Rang recorded his second assist of the match when he passed the ball from the top of the 18-yard box to Gomez, who tallied his second goal of the game, tying the score 2-2.
Gomez led his team with three shots, all of them on goal. Redshirt junior Carlos Alonso (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) and teammate Ricardo Benini (Bologna, Italy) both totaled two shots each, and Gianluca Trastulli (Rome, Italy) and Alex Ramos (Almada, Portugal) both recorded a shot each.
Golden Falcons goalkeeper Uche Santschi (Bern, Switzerland) faced five shots and made three saves, and Wildcats' Markus saw four shots and saved two.
Felician sits at 6-3-6 overall, 3-2-4 in CACC play. They travel to Connecticut on Tuesday for a 6p.m conference match-up against the University of Bridgeport.
