Box Score BLOOMFIELD, NJ- Felician men's soccer traveled to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, Bloomfield College, for its final match of regular season play. Alex Ramos (Almada, Portugal) scored the one Golden Falcon goal, but Bloomfield recorded two unanswered goals to end the match, 2-1.
In under 5-minutes both teams were up on the scoreboard. Felician was first on an unassisted goal from Ramos, however, Bloomfield was quick to tie up the game, 1-1, with a penalty kick goal by Seiya Zen.
The Bears netted the game winning goal around the 14-minute mark to defeat the Golden Falcons, 2-1. Overall, Felician was outshot 16-6 and 11 of the Bear shots were taken in the second half. Goalkeeper, Uche Santschi (Bern, Switzerland) managed to save 8 shots on 10 shots faced in the match.
Carlos Alonso (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) tallied 2 shots while Ramos, Riccardo Benini (Bologna, Italy), Ben Batson (Verona, NJ), and Gianluca Trastulli (Rome, Italy) recorded a shot apiece.
With tonight's loss, the men's soccer team drops to 7-5-6 overall and 4-4-4 in the CACC. Despite the result, the Golden Falcons secured seventh place in the standings to face Holy Family at 1pm on Tuesday, Nov. 1 for the CACC Quarterfinals match.
The last time Felician faced Holy Family was on Sept. 17 where the Golden Falcons lost 3-1. Benini was able to put the squad in front, 1-0, from an Anthony Medina (San Sebastian, Spain) assist, but Holy Family went to score 3 goals to run away from the CACC win.
