Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Felician women's basketball was topped by non-conference opponent Daeman University, 72-60, during its final game at the Redhawks classic on Saturday afternoon.
Daemen held the Golden Falcons to only 10 points to end the first period. Brianna Lee (Jersey City, N.J.) started off the game by netting a pair of free-throws to put the Golden Falcons up 2-0 early. After a layup by Daemen's Natalie Angelette and two more Felician free-throws by Katelyn Andres (North Bergen, N.J.), the Wildcats went on an eleven-point run to put themselves in front, 13-4. In the final seconds of the first, Courtney Logan (Riverview, FL) forced a turnover to score the 10th point to close out the quarter.
Felician didn't record a point until 3-minutes into the second when Niaimani Marshall (Jersey City, NJ) came off the bench to notch a three. From there, the Wildcats continued push its lead further with a few more runs to enter halftime, 45-22.
Entering the third quarter, the Golden Falcons couldn't shake the Daemen lead as the Wildcats put up 5 quick points to edge the squad 50-23. After a Lee jump shot, Felician ran cold to only score one last time from a pair of free-throws to go into the fourth trailing by 23. The Golden Falcons were able to cut into the lead to only be down by 12 in final period, but the team ran out of time.
Felician was led by Andres's 17 points, 3 assists and 3 steals and Lee was right behind with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The Women's Basketball Team finalized the weekend with a 1-1 record and will be back in action on November 19 when they face Assumption University in Worcester, MA at 1pm
