ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY -  Felician Women's Basketball Team defeated Queens (N.Y.) College, 68-45, at the Molloy ECC/CACC Challenge in Rockville Centre, NY on Saturday afternoon.

Briana Lee (Jersey City, NJ) led the team with a double-double of 22 points, shooting over 70% from the field, and 13 rebounds. Courtney Logan (Riverview, FL) had 17 points and 4 steals and Katelyn Andres (North Bergen, NJ) had 10 points and 5 assists.

In the first quarter, Felician was able to get ahead of the Knights , 9-2, before its opponents would come back to only trail by one with 2:18 left. Mar Vidal (Tona, Spain) extended the Golden Falcon lead , 19-12, after forcing a Knights turnover and clinching a layup to close out the first. Queens was never able to surpass Felician. Much like the first 10-minutes of the day, the team would only be down by one, but the Golden Falcons would add onto the score to go into half-time 35-22.

To start the second half of play, Lee snagged a steal to find Natalie Chappotin (Elizabeth, NJ) for a lay-in, 37-22. With just under 2-minutes to go, Andres netted a freebee and a 3-pointer while Lee recorded a layup to go into the final stanza with a 14-point lead.

After a Natalia Lucic (Grindavik, Iceland) jumper, the Golden Falcons ran away with Game 1 of the weekend with a  final score of 68-45.

Felician Women's Basketball improves to 2-2 overall as they go into Game 2 tomorrow at noon against Molly University.
