Box Score CALDWELL, NJ – Felician Women's Basketball traveled to Caldwell University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Match-Up Tuesday night in Caldwell, NJ. The Golden Falcons 22-point 4th quarter helped propel the squad out in front for the 68-57 win.
Courtney Logan (Riverview, FL) finished the night with 16 points and 4 steals, Briana Lee (Jersey City, NJ) recorded 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Katelyn Andres (North Bergen, NJ) had 11 points.
After a 19-16 first quarter, the Golden Falcons kicked off the second with an Aisha Traore (Bronx, NY) layup to eventually go into half time leading by 6, 36-30. After the intermission, the Cougars outscored Felician 13-10, but still could not topple the Golden Falcons as Mimmi Hahne (Sollentuna, Sweden) recorded a freebee to add onto the scoreboard for a 46-42 lead.
Three of the 7 score ties were in the 4th. Logan gave the Golden Falcons a 5-point lead with a lay-in, but the Cougars came back to tie it at 51. After the final equalizer at 55, Natalie Chappotin (Elizabeth, NJ) snagged three back-to-back offensive rebounds to keep the possession. With 15-seconds left, Logan notched a steal to convert into two-points for Felician to put the game to rest, 68-57.
The Golden Falcons shot 65.5% from the free-throw line and out rebounded the Cougars 42-41.
The women's basketball team improved to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the CACC. The team will be back on its home court next Tuesday, Dec. 13, as they face Pace University at 5:30pm.
