RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician Women's Basketball was toppled by Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, Georgian Court University, 66-59, in JJJ Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Falcons would hold the lead into the second quarter where the Lions would go on a 12-8 run to flip the score in favor of Georgian Court, 25-23. Mar Vidal (Tona, Spain) was able to put Felician back on top with a three-pointer, but the Lions answered back with a trey of its own along with a layup to enter halftime, 30-26.

Mimmi Hahne (Sollentuna, Sweden) kicked off the second half with a midrange jumper to slowly chip away at the opposer lead. Briana Lee (Jersey City, NJ) netted 2 back-to-back three-pointers to have the Golden Falcons trail the Lions by 3, 37-34, with 6-minutes left in the third. Each time Felician would put a point on the board, the Lions always had an answer.

In the final stanza, Lee posted two layups to put the hosts down by one, but another Lions run forced the Golden Falcons into a 10-point deficit with a minute left in the game. Vidal would head to the free-throw line to sink one and Lee would record a final second layup, but Felician was defeated 66-59.

Lee led all Golden Falcon scorers with her 12th double-double of the season, with 23-points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals while Vidal had 7-points coming off the bench. Catherine Lecop (Madrid, Spain) had 4 assists, 2 steals and one block in the contest.

Felician Women's Basketball (8-13/5-9 CACC) is back on the road Feb. 14 for another CACC match-up against Bloomfield College at 6:00pm.
