RUTHERFORD, NJ – The Felician Women's Basketball team highlighted Catherine Lecop (Madrid, Spain) and Katelyn Andres (North Bergen, NJ) during its senior day celebration prior to tip-off against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents, the University of Bridgeport, Saturday afternoon. The squad was able to pull out a 69-59 win over the Purple Knights.

During the first quarter, Bridgeport held a 12-4 lead with less than a minute and a half left. Andres was able to spark a Felician run with a pair of free throws and a three-pointer to go into the second trailing 14-11. Lecop shot 3-6 from behind the arc and was able to sink one to put the hosts down by a point. Briana Lee (Jersey City, NJ) put herself at the line to go two-for-two to give Felician its first lead of the afternoon, however, Bridgeport answered back and was able to tie it at 23 to go into halftime.

The Golden Falcons came out of intermission with a 7-5 run to take the 32-28 lead. From there, Felician would go onto hold the advantage for the remainder of the game as they were able to reach its largest lead of 15 mid way through the final stanza. Bridgeport cut its deficit to seven with 20-second left on the clock, but the Golden Falcons closed out the 69-59 Senior Day win.

The green-and-gold had four players score in double-figures as Lee led all Golden Falcon scorers with a double-double of 19-points and 11 rebounds. Andres had 17-points and 6 rebounds and Lecop had 12-points. Mimmi Hahne (Sollentuna, Sweden) also posted 12-points and 6 assists.

The women's basketball team (10-13/7-9 CACC) will be back in JJJ Gymnasium to face Alliance University next Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 5:30pm. The Golden Falcons will be considered the away team while Alliance will be home.
