Uniondale, NY - Felician's NCAA Tournament run remains alive after the Golden Falcons split their opening day at the NCAA East Regional on Thursday. After falling to Southern New Hampshire in the opener despite holding an early lead, Felician responded in elimination-game fashion later in the evening, erupting for fifteen runs against Molloy and continue its postseason run.
Game One: Southern New Hampshire 11, Felician 5
Felician opened regional play with an early offensive push before Southern New Hampshire used a seven-run fourth inning to pull away.
The Falcons grabbed the lead in the third inning when Jose David Medrano worked a walk ahead of a two-run home run from Luis De La Cruz to left center, putting Felician in front 2–0.
After Southern New Hampshire answered to tie the game, the Falcons responded again in the fourth. Rocko Brzezniak reached on an error before Matthew Scrivanic delivered an RBI single up the middle. Moments later, Haiden Walters lined a two-run double into right center as Felician regained a 5–2 advantage.
Southern New Hampshire answered in the bottom half with seven runs to take control, but Felician continued to battle throughout the afternoon and threatened in multiple later innings.
Luis De La Cruz finished with a home run and two RBI, while Haiden Walters added a double and two RBI. Matt Murphy collected two hits, and Matthew Scrivanic added a hit and an RBI.
Andrew Gendi made the start before Antonio Sansone and Jackson Walsh combined to settle the middle innings. Walsh turned in 3.2 scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit while striking out three. Brandon Lynn would close out the bottom of the eighth inning.
Game Two: Felician 15, Molloy 10
Facing elimination later in the day, Felician responded with one of its best offensive performances of the season to send Molloy into the loser's bracker and extend its NCAA Tournament run.
The regional victory also continued Felician's postseason dominance over Molloy. During the Golden Falcons' historic 2025 season, Felician eliminated the Lions in the opening round of the East Regional to advance to the East Super Regional Round. One year later, the Falcons once again find themselves having success against the Lions.
Felician took control early in the opening inning. Andrew DeAngelis and Luis De La Cruz both singled before Neisser Sanchez brought home the first run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Matthew Scrivanic followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 2–0.
The Falcons added two more runs in the second as Jose David Medrano launched a solo home run before De La Cruz lined an RBI single into center.
After Molloy chipped away, Felician delivered the game's defining moment in the fourth inning.
Bryce Curry lined an RBI single before Neisser Sanchez crushed a three-run home run to right field. Moments later, Matthew Scrivanic launched a solo home run as the Falcons exploded for six runs in the inning and opened a 10–2 lead.
Even after Molloy answered with four runs in the fifth, Felician continued to respond. The Falcons added four more runs in the sixth, capitalizing on pressure and defensive miscues before Medrano added an RBI single and Walters drove in another run.
Felician totaled 15 runs on 13 hits in the win. Haiden Walters recorded three hits and two RBI, Luis De La Cruz added three hits and an RBI, and Neisser Sanchez drove in four runs with his three-run home run. Jose David Medrano homered and drove in two, while Matthew Scrivanic added a home run and two RBI.
Max Weber earned the win after striking out six over five innings, while Collin Kratzer delivered two scoreless innings in relief to stabilize the middle frames.
