Baseball Concludes Their Season In the NCAA DII East Regional Final

Uniondale, NY - Felician split its two games on Friday at the NCAA East Regional, defeating Southern New Hampshire 12–6 before falling to Molloy, 3–2, in a tightly contested regional final matchup. The Golden Falcons once again showed resilience throughout the day, responding to momentum swings and battling into the final inning of both contests.

Game One: Felician 12, Southern New Hampshire 6

One day after Southern New Hampshire erased an early Felician lead, the Golden Falcons answered emphatically, erupting for 12 runs on 14 hits to force a winner-take-all regional final.

Southern New Hampshire grabbed an early 1–0 lead in the third inning, but Felician immediately responded with its biggest offensive inning of the day.

After Matt Murphy reached on an error and Haiden Walters followed by reaching base, Andrew DeAngelis dropped down a bunt single to load the bases. Luis De La Cruz then lined a two-run single into center before Bryce Curry ripped a two-run triple to center field. Jose David Medrano later added an RBI single as the Falcons exploded for five runs and took control of the game.

Felician added to the lead again in the sixth. Bryce Curry delivered an RBI double down the left field line before Rocko Brzezniak came through with a two-run single into left center, stretching the advantage to 8–1.

Southern New Hampshire attempted to rally with four runs in the eighth inning, but the Falcons answered immediately in the bottom half. Andrew DeAngelis doubled into the gap, Bryce Curry drove in a run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Ernesto Polanco added an RBI single as Felician answered with four more runs to put the game away.

Andrew DeAngelis finished with four hits and three runs scored, while Bryce Curry drove in four runs with a triple and double. Luis De La Cruz added two hits and two RBI, Rocko Brzezniak drove in two runs off the bench, and Ernesto Polanco collected three hits.

Christian Colmery earned the win after allowing just one run over six innings, while Gavin Enright closed out the final three innings to send Felician into the regional final.

Game Two: Molloy 3, Felician 2

For the second straight season, Felician and Molloy met in a postseason regional showdown, but this time the Lions escaped with a narrow victory in a game defined by pitching, defense, and late-inning tension.

Felician broke through in the fourth inning after Jose David Medrano was hit by a pitch and Ernesto Polanco worked a walk. Matthew Scrivanic delivered an RBI single to tie the game before Andrew DeAngelis followed with a run-scoring single to give the Falcons a 2–1 lead.

The game remained tight throughout the middle innings as Felician's pitching staff repeatedly worked out of pressure situations. Sadier Vicioso gave the Falcons four solid innings in the start before Aiden Denton and Andrew Gendi combined to keep the game tied heading into the late innings.

One of the biggest moments of the game came in the bottom of the eighth inning. After Bryce Curry worked a walk, Thomas Iaquinto came on as a pinch runner and quickly got into scoring position during Rocko Brzezniak's bunt attempt. Brzezniak put down what looked like a perfect bunt and beat the throw to first, while Iaquinto hustled all the way to third. But after the play, the home plate umpire ruled that Brzezniak stepped out of the batter's box while bunting, taking away a huge opportunity for Felician and sending Iaquinto back to first base.

Molloy pushed across the go-ahead run in the ninth inning before Felician mounted one final rally in the bottom half. Matt Murphy singled, and Haiden Walters and Andrew DeAngelis both worked walks to load the bases with two outs before Molloy escaped the jam to close out the regional final.

Andrew DeAngelis finished with two hits and an RBI, while Bryce Curry and Matt Murphy each collected two hits. Matthew Scrivanic also drove in a run for the Falcons.

Despite the loss, Felician closed another historic season with a 35–23 record and back-to-back appearances in the NCAA East Regional Final.
