NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Felician battled Southern Connecticut State to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon at Jess Dow Field. After a scoreless opening half, the Golden Falcons broke through in the 65th minute when Issa El Assal scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Anthony Gomez to give Felician a 1-0 lead. Southern Connecticut State answered in the 83rd minute, and neither side could find a game-winning goal in the final minutes as the match ended level.
Felician finished with nine shots, including five on target, while Gerardo Mendez made six saves to help the Golden Falcons earn the draw.
