BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Felician College men's basketball team could not take advantage of a career-high 29 points by senior frontcourtman John Tello (Ridgefield Park, NJ), dropping a 92-78 non-conference contest to host Long Island University-C.W. Post on Sunday afternoon at the Pratt Center.

The key stretch of the game came early in the second half, when C.W. Post (4-1), leading 50-45, went on a 14-0 run which lasted nearly four minutes. Pioneer junior guard Tobin Carberry (Hamden, CT) nailed a three-point field goal on his team's next possession, then made six of eight foul shots in the closing seconds to secure the victory.

Tello canned 11 of 21 field-goal attempts, including 4 of 7 from three-point range, and also led Felician with six rebounds. He was supported by 14 points, five rebounds and four assists from junior Antoine Obery (Roselle, NJ). Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, NJ) netted 13 points in 18 minutes off the bench for the visitors.

The early stages of a sharp-shooting first half saw five ties and seven lead changes before C.W. Post pulled away for a 30-21 lead. The hosts kept up the pace, shooting 55 percent from the field, including 12 of 20 on three-pointers, for the day. CWP also outscored the Golden Falcons, 22-10, at the foul line.
