Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Senior guard Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder) matched a career high with 25 points as the Felician College men's basketball team began its 2012-13 season with an 86-67 non-conference victory over visiting Queens (N.Y.) College on Tuesday night at Job Gymnasium.
Senior swingman Antoine Obery (Roselle, N.J./Abraham Clark) added 20 points and seven rebounds for Felician (1-0), which pulled away on the strength of a 50-35 second-half scoring edge. The Golden Falcons shot 63 percent from the field in period two and 52 percent for the night.
A tightly contested first half featured four ties and six lead changes before Felician came away with a 36-32 lead at intermission. In the first 3 minutes, 46 seconds of the second half, the hosts went on a 13-3 run to open up a 14-point edge.
Only once the rest of the way did Queens again cut its deficit into single digits, pulling within 73-64 at the 5:21 mark. But the Golden Falcons scored the next eight points, including six by Obery, to put the game away.
Felician sophomore forwards J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J./Linden) (10 points) and Jarryd Horsley-Fordham (Orange, N.J./Marist) (eight points, six rebounds) established career scoring highs. The Golden Falcons made 8 of 15 three-point attempts (53 percent), with six different players canning at least one.
The Knights (0-3) placed four scorers in double figures, led by 12 points each from Patrick Parker (Queens, N.Y./Alfred State University) and Deejuhan Gray (Massapequa, N.Y./Amityville). The teams combined for 48 personal fouls and 49 free-throw attempts.
