Box Score SPARKILL, N.Y. – Felician College junior forward J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J.) led all scorers with a season-high 21 points as the Golden Falcons defeated host St. Thomas Aquinas College, 74-67, in non-conference men's basketball action on Monday night at Aquinas Hall. Felician (4-4) ended STAC's five-game winning streak.
Felician senior Anthony Obery (Roselle, N.J.) (10 points, four assists) beat the halftime buzzer with a contested three-point field goal to give the visitors a 40-34 lead at the break. However, four of the Golden Falcons' first six second-period possessions ended in turnovers, allowing the Spartans to knot the score at 42-42 with 16:45 to play.
Pringley tallied Felician's next eight points, and a three-pointer by freshman guard Tim Massado (Wilmington, Del.) put the capper on an 11-2 run that gave the Golden Falcons the lead for good. Felician moved ahead by 13 at the 5:46 mark on a Pringley lay-up, and assumed its largest advantage, 74-57, with 3:37 to play with a jumper by sophomore guard Jamal Reid (Newark, N.J.). STAC (5-2) scored the game's final 10 points before running out of time.
Pringley played 33 minutes, shooting 8 for 10 from the field, including 2 for 2 from three-point range. Massado contributed 14 points and four assists off the bench and junior center Jeyvi Miavivululu (Paterson, N.J.) scored 11 points with seven rebounds for Felician. Freshman guard Chaz Watler (Brooklyn, N.Y.) topped four Spartan double-figure scorers with 18 points.
Felician shot an even 50 percent from the floor in both halves. The Golden Falcons canned 41 percent of their three-pointers (7-17), as compared to just 18 percent (2-11) for the Spartans.
Felician forward Jarryd Horsley-Fordham (Orange, N.J.) (seven points) led all players with 10 rebounds.
