Box Score PHILADELPHIA -- The Felician College men's basketball team received several personal-best performances and kept control of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoff fate with a 94-83 CACC victory over host Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon at Sorgenti Arena. Felician (10-14, 7-9 CACC) earned its second consecutive road victory after starting the season 0-9.
The Golden Falcons can qualify for the conference tournament without any outside help with victories in their final two games, at Concordia (N.Y.) College on Tuesday and at home for Nyack College on Feb. 23. However, a loss on Tuesday would eliminate Felician.
On Saturday, Felician took a 48-43 halftime lead behind 23 points from senior Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, N.J.) and 17 from sophomore J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J.). But while Green finished with a career-high 30 points, and Pringley a collegiate-best 26, it was CACC Player-of-the-Year candidate Antoine Obery (Roselle, N.J.) who sparked the Golden Falcons from a second-half deficit.
In the final 20 minutes alone, Obery posted 21 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and three steals. With his team trailing by five and 10:40 remaining in regulation, he scored seven consecutive Felician points to tie the game and touch off a game-changing 24-9 run. Leading 83-73 after a Pringley three-point field goal at the 3:22 mark, the Golden Falcons made 8 of 9 free throws down the stretch to thwart any Griffin rally.
Obery (9-15 FG) finished with 23 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and four steals. Pringley was also 9 for 15, and Green canned five three-point field goals. Sophomore Jarryd Horsley-Fordham (Orange, N.J.) scored nine points and grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds.
Mark DeRugeris Jr. (Woodbury, N.J.) topped five double-figure scorers for Chestnut Hill (12-11, 8-6) with 20 points and eight rebounds.
