Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College secured the final open spot in the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Tournament with an emphatic 94-65 CACC victory over visiting Nyack College on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium. Felician (12-14, 9-9 CACC) concluded the regular season with wins in three consecutive games and six of its final eight.
Felician tied for fourth place in the CACC North Division with Concordia (N.Y.) College. The Golden Falcons qualified for the conference playoffs via tiebreaker over the Clippers by sweeping the teams' two-game regular-season series. It is Felician's fourth postseason appearance in the last five years.
Felician will travel to Holy Family University, the CACC South's top seed, for its quarterfinal match-up on Saturday, March 2, at 4:30 p.m.
The Golden Falcons took control from the outset on Saturday, making 9 of their first 12 shots to open up a 24-4 lead after 7 ½ minutes. The Warriors (5-20, 3-15) closed to within a 14-point deficit on two occasions, but Felician finished the half with a 16-5 run for a 46-21 halftime edge. The Golden Falcons led by at least 20 points for the entire second period, with the largest bulge coming at 87-56 with 3:47 to play.
The hosts shot a season-best 59 percent from the field, including 10 for 20 from three-point range. Seven different Golden Falcons canned at least one trifecta.
On Senior Day, Felician was led by a trio of fourth-year players. Antoine Obery (Roselle, N.J./Abraham Clark) scored 19 of his 23 points in the first half and added eight rebounds and four assists. David Williamson (Bronx, N.Y./Wings Academy) (8-12 FG) tallied a season-high 17 points in 23 bench minutes, and Anthony J. Green (Jersey City, N.J./Marist) (5-7 FG) picked up 12 points and five assists. The Golden Falcons rolled up 27 points off of 20 Nyack turnovers.
Sophomore guard Chris Hampton (Brooklyn, N.Y./Princeton Day Academy) led all scorers with 26 points for Nyack. Warrior freshman Will Robinson (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) amassed 18 points and eight rebounds.
Obery, Green, Williamson, Anthony D. Green (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder) (nine points) and Dukpe Smith-Obasuyi (Newark, N.J./Weequahic) (four points, five rebounds) were honored in pre-game Senior Day ceremonies.
