Felician Men Lose Despite Career Day From Horsley-Fordham

Box Score

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College received career highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds from junior forward Jarryd Horsley-Fordham (Orange, N.J./Marist) in its 87-70 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to visiting Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

Horsley-Fordham came off the bench to play 28 minutes for Felician (6-19, 4-14 CACC) and make nine of his 10 field-goal attempts. Both he and Golden Falcon senior guard Anthony Obery (Roselle, N.J./Abraham Clark) recorded their second "double-double" of the season. Obery finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

But their efforts were counterbalanced by the play of Chestnut Hill guard Travis Trevisan (West Chester, Pa./Salesianum). The graduate student played the entire 40 minutes, tallying 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Trevisan, who led five double-figure scorers for the Griffins, shot 9 for 16 from the field and 9 of 13 at the foul line.

After CHC senior Jakeem Bogans (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal Dougherty) made two free throws to give his team an 8-7 lead after three minutes, 33 seconds, of action, the Griffins (10-15, 8-10 CACC) never trailed again. The visitors led by as many as six points on four occasions in the opening period, including their 43-37 halftime edge.

The Griffins then took full control by beginning the second half with a 12-3 run over the first four-plus minutes. Bogans and Trevisan netted five points each in the decisive stretch. CHC led by as many as 21 points, 77-56, with 6:30 to play. The Griffins shot 49 percent from the field and 20 for 25 at the foul line for the day.

Felician's Will Thompson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) contributed 13 points and seven rebounds. Bogans ended the day with 13 points, while CHC junior guard Christian Walck (Lancaster, Pa./St. Thomas More) totaled 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Felician plays its final game of the 2013-14 campaign on Tuesday, when it hosts Concordia (N.Y.) College at 8 p.m. Obery and center Garrett Ellwood (Cairns, Australia/St. Mary's Catholic) will be honored in a pre-game ceremony for Senior Night.
