Box Score WILMINGTON, Del. – Senior forward J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J.) and graduate swingman A.J. Kemp (Jersey City, N.J.) combined for 26 second-half points to help lead Felician College to an 87-75 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball victory over host Goldey-Beacom College on Sunday afternoon at the Joseph West Jones Center.
Felician (3-14, 3-8 CACC) produced its highest scoring output of the season. The Golden Falcons have won consecutive road games for the first time since Feb. 8 and 15 of last year. The victory was the 66th at Felician for head coach Dave DeFerrari, tying him with Darryl Jacobs (2000-05) for the program record.
Pringley tallied 16 points after halftime and ended the day with game highs of 26 points (on 11 of 18 shooting from the floor) and 14 rebounds. Kemp had two points in the opening 20 minutes before posting a total line of 12 points and three assists in 24 bench minutes.
The Golden Falcons led by as many as 10 points in the first half before settling for a 40-38 halftime advantage. With 12:39 to play in regulation time, Felician scored seven points in a row, capped by a Taylor Plummer (Plainfield, N.J.) transition lay-up, to move ahead, 54-37. Goldey-Beacom answered, however, with an 11-2 run, and took a 58-56 lead on a three-point field goal by Joey Getz (Philadelphia, Pa.) at the 9:12 mark.
Felician went back ahead by five before another Getz three made it 67-65 in favor of the visitors and 5:45 remaining. But a second 7-0 run allowed the Golden Falcons to pull away for good. Kemp completed a conventional three-point play with 4:52 on the game clock, and followed by feeding Pringley underneath for a lay-up 40 seconds later. The Lightning called a time-out, but never got closer than a six-point deficit the rest of the way. The final 12-point margin was Felician's largest of the afternoon.
The Golden Falcons shot a season-high 55.7 percent from the field. Sophomore point guard Damiun Moore (Manchester, N.J.) was 6 for 9 and netted 13 points with a career-best eight assists against just one turnover in 36 minutes. Senior forward Jeyvi Miavivululu (Paterson, N.J.) recorded 19 points and seven rebounds for Felician.
Getz led five double-figure scorers for the Lightning (6-12, 3-7) with 18 points and added four assists. GBC senior center Chris Gebhart (Cherry Hill, N.J.) was good for 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Felician faces a five-day layoff before traveling to the regionally-ranked University of the Sciences on Jan. 31.
