Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Felician College men's basketball team set a program single-game scoring record in its 110-96 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over host Concordia (N.Y.) College on Tuesday night at the Meyer Athletic Center. The game marked the conclusion of the 2014-15 season for both schools.
Felician senior forwards Jeyvi Miavivululu (Paterson, N.J.) and J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J.) turned in strong performances in their final career game. Miavivululu shot 12 for 18 from the field and scored a career-high 27 points with 10 rebounds. Pringley posted similar numbers, tallying 26 points and 10 boards while making 12 of 17 field-goal attempts. Felician shot a season-high 60.6 percent from the floor, including 62.5 percent (25 for 40) in the second half, when it tallied 65 points.
The game featured 14 lead changes, including five in the first half. Concordia (11-17, 8-11 CACC) jumped ahead, 13-4, after 3 ½ minutes, and were ahead by as many as 11 points in the early going. Felician fashioned a 17-4 run to take a two-point lead on a C.J. Mwila (Livonia, Mich.) three-point field goal with 11:19 left in the half, but the Clippers answered with a 19-6 spurt to move back ahead by 11. Pringley then scored seven points in the final 3 ½ minutes to help the Golden Falcons pull within 48-45 at halftime.
The initial 7 ½ minutes of the second half were hotly contested, with the teams within one possession of each other for all but 21 seconds of that stretch. A Pringley lay-up with 14:07 to play gave Felician (6-19, 6-13) the lead for good, 66-65. Shortly thereafter, a lay-in by Miavivululu got the Golden Falcons started on a 21-7 run which turned the game in their favor for good. The Clippers never were nearer than a seven-point deficit for the final 5 ½ minutes.
Freshman forward Marko Kozul (Astoria, N.Y.) came off the bench to net 24 points and add six rebounds in 19 minutes for Felician. Other seniors participating in their final game for Felician included Jarryd Horsley Fordham (Orange, N.J.) and Ayotunde Oyeniyi (Lagos, Nigeria). Horsley picked up eight points and five rebounds, while Oyeniyi, who had missed his team's last 14 games due to injury, nailed a late three for the Golden Falcons' final points of the night.
Concordia was defeated despite shooting 55.1 percent, including 11 for 25 (44.0 percent) from three-point range. The Clippers put five scorers in double figures. Sophomores Jalen Heath (Joliet, Ill.) (eight assists) and Andrew Peacock (Washington, D.C.) led the way with 18 points apiece.
Felician accumulated a 43-25 rebounding advantage, and a 17-4 edge in second-chance points.
The Golden Falcons' previous single game high was 105 points, set against Centenary (N.J.) College on Feb. 15, 1997, and matched versus Nyack College on Jan. 26, 2002. Felician scored 100 or more points for the first time since a 101-100 overtime loss to the University of the Sciences on Feb. 6, 2004.
