Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior forward J.R. Pringley (Elizabeth, N.J./Linden) shot 14-for-19 from the floor and recorded 31 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists in his team's 85-73 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball loss to visiting Georgian Court University on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.
Pringley turned in the third 30+ point game of his career and his sixth "double-double" of the season. Felician (3-17, 3-11 CACC) also received a season-high 17 points, a career-best eight assists and three steals from sophomore guard Tim Massado (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth). Georgian Court, a second-year program making its first trip to Rutherford, was led by 19 points off the bench from freshman guard Michael Pierre (Melrose, N.Y./Hoosic Valley Central) (8-12 FG).
After Pringley made a lay-up on Felician's opening possession, GCU (5-16, 2-12) scored the game's next 18 points and never trailed again. Down 25-12, the Golden Falcons, sparked by the guard play of sophomore C.J. Mwila (Livonia, Mich./Liviona Stevenson (four points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals in 19 minutes), embarked on a 14-3 run to pull within two of the Lions, but Pierre scored on GCU's final two possessions of the half to give the visitors a 46-39 halftime advantage.
Georgian Court used buckets by Juwuan Carter (Paterson, N.J./DePaul Catholic) and Pierre to open a 58-45 edge with 13:46 to play in regulation. Felician got as close as 72-65 when Massado canned three free throws at the 6:46 mark, but never sliced further into its deficit.
The Lions shot 49 percent from the floor and had 20 assists against 10 turnovers. Felician was limited to 34-percent second-half shooting after converting at a 54-percent clip in the first 20 minutes. GCU converted 17 Golden Falcon turnovers into 22 points.
Senior Jordan Wejnert (Point Pleasant, N.J.) (nine rebounds) and sophomore Keith Hughes (Woodbridge, N.J./Robinson School) (eight rebounds, five assists) each tallied 18 points for the Lions. Felician's Marko Kozul (Astoria, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) finished with 11 points.
