Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Philadelphia University shot 54 percent from the field and held visiting Felician University to 33-percent shooting in its 80-49 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball victory over the Golden Falcons on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center. Philadelphia (12-4, 6-2 CACC) is ranked No. 6 in the most recent D2SIDA East Region Media Poll.
Philadelphia senior center Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) shot 10 for 16 from the floor and led all players with 23 points. Alexis added 11 rebounds, including the 1,000th of his career, and three blocked shots. Sophomore guard Kaison Randolph (Trenton, N.J.) sank six three-point field goals for the Rams and finished with 21 points.
Juniors Jamal Reid (Newark, N.J.) and Kennedy Chukwuocha (Willingboro, N.J.) scored nine points apiece to top Felician (4-10, 2-6).
Philadelphia, which never trailed, took control of the contest with a 14-0 run midway through the first half, turning a one-point edge into a 31-16 lead with seven minutes, 14 seconds to play until halftime. Alexis tallied eight points and Randolph the other six during the spurt. Felician's scoreless draught passed 6 ½ minutes of game time until a Taylor Plummer (Plainfield, N.J.) tip-in with 4:33 left in the half. The Rams brought a 41-26 edge into intermission.
The Rams held Felician scoreless for the first five-plus minutes of the second half, and without a field goal until Marko Kozul (Astoria, N.Y.) made a jumper with 13:47 remaining to bring his team to within 49-30. That was as close as the Golden Falcons would get the rest of the way. A Randolph three put Philadelphia up, 67-36, at the 6:25 mark, one of three occasions, including the final margin, the hosts would lead by 31.
Brendan Kilpatrick (Norristown, Pa.) netted 16 points and T.J. Huggins (Alexandria, Va.) finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and four assists for the Rams, who owned a 40-26 rebounding advantage. Tim Massado (Wilmington, Del.) scored seven points for Felician.
