Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Junior guard Gjaimeir Stanford (Wilmington, Del.) beat the shot clock buzzer for a three-point field goal with 39 seconds left in regulation to help seal Felician University's 88-78 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball victory over host Concordia (N.Y.) College on Tuesday night at the Meyer Athletic Center.
Felician (3-3, 1-1 CACC) has won three consecutive games for the first time since February 2013.
Sophomore forward Terrell Spaulding (Paterson, N.J.) scored a season-high 29 points to top the Golden Falcons. Spaulding shot 13-for-21 from the field, canning all three of his three-point attempts. Felician senior guard Bryant Webb (Parlin, N.J.) came off the bench to record his first collegiate double-double, amassing 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams placed four scorers in double figures. Junior swingman Elijah Brown (Springfield, N.J.) (7-8 FG, 4-4 3FG) led Concordia (1-5, 0-1) with 18 points.
The game's first half contained five ties and six lead changes. Felician was ahead by as many as six points on two occasions before settling for a 38-36 halftime advantage. Spaulding tallied 15 points in the opening period.
The Clippers erased an eight-point deficit to take a 51-50 edge on a Jalen Heath (Joliet, Ill.) three-pointer with 14:17 to play. A Stanford lay-up at the 13:45 mark gave Felician the lead for good, and began a 16-4 run that left the visitors ahead, 66-55, with 9:35 remaining.
Concordia made three-pointers on their next two possessions, and its deficit hovered between three and seven points as time wound down. Two Heath free throws brought the hosts to within 80-76, but after Webb split a pair of foul shots, the Clippers came up empty, and Stanford made his key three-pointer out of a Felician timeout. Webb was 4 for 4 at the line in the final 21 seconds.
Felician, which committed only six turnovers, owned a 39-29 rebounding advantage, including 12-4 on the offensive glass. Stanford finished with 15 points, and Jamar Redmond (Roselle, N.J.) totaled 11. Heath recorded 17 points and 10 rebounds and Stephen Milhaven (Port Washington, N.Y.) had 15 points and nine boards for the Clippers.
