Box Score NYACK, N.Y. – Junior swingman Terrell Spaulding (Paterson, N.J.) scored 24 points with seven rebounds and junior center Rahsaan Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded his third consecutive "double-double" as the Felician University men's basketball team earned a workmanlike 76-63 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over host Nyack College on Tuesday night at Bowman Gymnasium.
With the victory, Felician (8-8, 5-3 CACC) swept its annual two-game season series from the Warriors for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign. At 8-8, the Golden Falcons have a winning percentage of .500 or better this late in a season for the first since time since completing 2010-11 at 14-13. Felician has won four of its last five games.
Spaulding solidified his hold on the CACC scoring lead, nudging his average to 20.6 points per game. Williams, meanwhile, recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots for his sixth double-double of the season. In the process, he took over the conference lead in rebound average at 10.1. His 2.00 blocks per contest are second in the CACC.
The Golden Falcons never trailed on Tuesday, jumping out to leads of 7-0 and 25-11. With five minutes, 24 seconds, left in the first half, a three-point field goal by Warrior senior Imran Ritchie (Uniondale, N.Y.) closed his team's gap to 28-24. But Felician freshman Mansfield Warren Jr. (South Amboy, N.J.) answered with a successful jump shot, and the visitors later closed the half with an 11-2 run to carry a 43-29 edge into intermission.
The Felician advantage hovered between 10 and 16 points for much of the second period. By the time the Warriors whittled their deficit inside of double digits – at 67-58 on a Ritchie layup – only 4:09 remained. The Golden Falcons answered by getting the ball down low to Jordan Compas (Yonkers, N.Y.) for a lay-in, and, following a Warren steal, Gjaimeir Stanford (Wilmington, Del.) nailed a three-pointer for an effective knockout blow.
The visitors placed five scorers in double figures. Compas totaled 11 points and five rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench. Stanford ended up with 11 points and four assists, and backcourtmate Zamir Wright (Newark, N.J.) scored 10. Felician shot 49.1 percent from the field for the night, led by Spaulding's 8-for-13 clip and a 4-for-5 effort by Compas.
Junior guard Elijah Farley (Orlando, Fla.) topped the Warriors (3-13, 3-6) with 14 points and added four assists. Nyack senior swingman Rashard Lewis (Chesterfield, Va.) scored 11 points with five rebounds.
In two games against Nyack this season, Spaulding made 22 out of 28 field-goal attempts, including 9 of 11 from distance, and scored 62 points in 64 minutes.
Felician hosts the University of the Sciences, one of three teams tied for first place in the CACC South Division, on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Rutherford, N.J.
