FROSTBURG, Md. – The Felician University men's basketball team held Frostburg State University without a field goal for a seven-minute span late in the second half to pull away for an 81-70 non-conference victory over the host Bobcats on Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Arena.

Junior guard Justin Davis (Jersey City, N.J.) topped five double-figure scorers for Felician with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Junior swingman Jay'von Jackson (Plainfield, N.J.) and sophomore guard Nas Amos (Newark, N.J.) (seven rebounds) netted 15 points apiece for the Golden Falcons.

Felician (2-2) trailed by as many as seven points during the opening period and 41-36 at halftime. But the visitors took the lead for good, 52-51, on a Jaylen Colon (Paterson, N.J.) jump shot with 12 minutes, 46 seconds, remaining in regulation time. The Golden Falcons stretched the edge to 58-51, only to see Frostburg State tally the next six points.

The Bobcats trailed, 61-59, after a Canaan Bartley (Miami, Fla.) jumper at the 8:39 mark. But the Felician defense held the hosts to only six points at the foul line over the next seven-plus minutes, stretching to a 76-65 bulge on a Dee-End McRae (Newark, N.J.) layup with 1:37 left.

Felician outscored the Bobcats, 25-9, at the foul line and amassed a 41-32 rebounding advantage. Colon and Sean McCarthy (Cork, Ireland) (nine rebounds) scored 10 points each and McRae finished with nine points and seven boards. Michael Tate Jr. (Houston, Texas) had 18 points and Bartley added 10 points and seven rebounds for Frostburg State (1-5).

Felician begins its 2021-22 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference slate when it hosts Bloomfield College on Wednesday, December 1, at 8 p.m. in Rutherford, N.J.
