LYNDHURST, N.J. – Felician University lost its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's lacrosse game to visiting Wilmington (Del.) University, 15-1, on Saturday night at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. Freshman midfielder Alfonso Guerrero (Bellmore, N.Y./W.C. Mepham) scored for Felician.

The Golden Falcons (2-5, 1-2 CACC) got off 31 shots on the night. Wilmington junior goalkeeper Noah Given (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) made 14 saves and added three ground balls. Freshman attackman Logan Stinson (Lafayette, La./St. Thomas More) led the Wildcats with eight points on five goals and three assists.

Wilmington's T.J. Caton (Palymra, Pa./Palmyra) scored 47 seconds into the contest, and the visitors led, 4-0, after one period. Felician began the second quarter with a man advantage, but the Wildcats seized back the momentum with a man-down goal in transition. Wilmington led, 6-0, before Guerrero found the cage off a feed from James D'Albora (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) with 7:13 to go until halftime, and was up, 7-1, at the break.

Felician was 14 for 18 from the faceoff spot, all by sophomore Jose McLean-Byrd (Bronx, N.Y./Mount St. Michael Academy), and led in ground balls on the night, 35-29. Guerrero and McLean-Byrd picked up seven ground balls each and freshman Matthew Branco (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) had six ground balls and two caused turnovers.

The Golden Falcons are next in action on Tuesday, when they travel to West Caldwell, N.J., for a 4 p.m. faceoff versus Caldwell University.
