RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician University men's basketball team made a big push on number-20 Dominican in their CACC opener Wednesday, cutting a 14-point second half deficit down to two. An ensuing Chargers run put the guests ahead to stay as the Golden Falcons were handed an 85-72 defeat.

Felician trailed as much as 52-38 early in the second half before countering with an 18-6 run to trail just 58-56 with 12:35 to play. Dominican took a timeout and responded with seven straight points and stretched its lead back up to as much as 14 before the final buzzer.

Anas Amos led the game with 21 points, making 8-of-14 from the field and grabbing four rebounds. Jonathan Edwards also made 8-of-14 to tally 19 points along with three boards. Angelo Santiago and Etnik Peci each nearly had double-doubles, both garnering a game-best nine rebounds. Santiago netted 18 points while Peci scored ten.

The Golden Falcons shot 45.2 percent on 28-of-62 shooting, making 2-of-18 threes and 14-of-20 free throws. Dominican fared 51.5 percent on 34-of-66, connecting on 7-of-18 from long range and 10-of-15 from the line. The Chargers held a 29-4 lead in bench points.

Felician, now 3-3, heads northwest to face Roberts Wesleyan this Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. tip.
