Box Score RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University men's basketball put on a stellar performance Saturday to knock off Chestnut Hill, 80-72, for their first CACC win of the season. Five Golden Falcons finished in double digits in scoring, led by Sean McCarthy's (Cork, Ireland) game-high 19 points with 11 rebounds, to take down the Griffins.
Felician was in control from the first basket, swelling its lead to as much as 16 in the first half before taking a 45-32 lead at intermission. The Golden Falcons continued this drive by boasting a 62-38 lead with 13:57 remaining. Felician withstood a late Griffins rally that brought them to within eight with just over one minute to play,
Deiker Padrino (Bogota, N.J.) netted 18 points for the Golden Falcons, while Anas Amos (Newark, N.J.) posted 14 points with eight rebounds. Ebuka Nnagbo (Niagara Falls. N.Y. ) shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the field to finish with 13 points as Etnik Peci (Pristina, Kosovo) added 10 points.
The Golden Falcons finished the day at 48.2 percent (27-of-56), making 4-of-16 from 3-point range and 22-of-28 on free throws. Though Chestnut Hill made 42.4 percent (28-of-66), the Griffins were hampered by an 8-of-29 showing from 3-point range, while making 8-of-12 free throws. The Golden led on the boards, 37-25.
