PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Felician women's swimming entered its first tri-meet of the season when they traveled to Pleasantville, N.Y. to compete against Pace University and Adelphi University, late Friday afternoon. The Golden Falcons cruised passed both squads as the swim team toppled Pace 140.00 to 128.00 and Adelphi 156.00 to 101.00.
In the meet, numerous first place finishes have occurred for the green-and-gold but new standard time performances were also recorded in the 200-Yard Freestyle, 100-Yard Backstroke, 50-Yard Butterfly, and 400-Yard Freestyle Relay. Two of the individual events were set by newcomer,
Natalia Amano (Sao Paolo, Brazil), who continues to make her mark as a Golden Falcon.
The events' newest time are as follows:
- 200-Yard Freestyle - Amano: 1:58.75
- 100-Yard Backstroke- Amano: 59.83
- 50-Yard Butterfly- Katinka Ummels (Urmond, Netherlands): 29.11
- 400-Yard Freestyle Relay- Dedrie Higgs (Freeport, Bahamas), Amelia Mayers (Bridgetown, Barbados), Juliana Kratka (Bachenbülach, Switzerland) and Amano: 3:41.10.
As the Golden Falcons secured the tri-meet sweep, the squad will be back in the water for another tri-meet with host, the College of Staten Island and Montclair State University in Staten Island, N.Y. on November 4.
