Box Score SPARKS, MD – Men's Lacrosse faced Alderson Broaddus in Sparks, MD for its opening day Sunday afternoon. The squad went on to post a 20-1 win over its opponents to break a pair of Felician Team Records of Most Goals and Most Clears in a Game (30).
With the win margin, Alfonso Guerrero (Bellmore, NY) lead all Golden Falcon players with 5 goals on six shots, Jayden Basalatan (Matawan, NJ) had 4 goals, Filipe Correia (Brick, NJ) had 3 and Robert Grasso (Islip, NY) had one goal and two assists.
Felician ignited the afternoon with Guerrero's first goal of the season with 12:52 left on the clock, but a one minute later, the Battlers were on the board with its first and only goal of the contest. From there, the Golden Falcons would create a 7-1 edge to end the first, to ultimately run away with the 20-1 win.
In the net, Nick Grebe (Farmingville, NY) came out with the win as he clinched three saves on four shots. Later into the day, Jake Hull (Beachwood, NJ) made an appearance and recorded seven saves of seven shots.
Felician out shot Alderson Broaddus 59-29, forced 20 Battlers turnovers, and went 18-24 in faceoffs with Tajae Mclean-Byrd (Bronx, NY) winning 15 of them. The Golden Falcons went 30-34 on clears to create a new standard for the Felician Team Record of Clears in a Game.
The Golden Falcons will be back on Wednesday to face Assumption University in Worcester, MA at 4:00pm.
