Box Score CALDWELL, NJ – Felician Men's Lacrosse was back in action Saturday afternoon against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents Caldwell University after a two-week hiatus due to inclement weather. The squad snagged a 10-8 victory to open conference play led by five Robert Grasso (Islip, NY) goals.
The red-shirt junior paced the Golden Falcon offense in the afternoon contest as he caged five goals on 12 shots and an assist. Alfonso Guerrero (Bellmore, NY) and Jabes Escalante (Chelsea, MA) had two goals apiece while Jayden Basalatan (Matawan, NJ) had one.
The Cougars held the 2-1 lead 5-minutes into play until Grasso netted his first goal of the day to tie. From there, the Golden Falcons would hold off its opposers to tie once more at 3 to ultimately grasp the lead for the remainder of the game.
To enter halftime Grasso and Basalatan posted a goal to have the 6-4 advantage. Caldwell would score first coming out of the half, to trail by one, but Felician added three more goals to its score to edge the hosts 9-6. During a man-up opportunity, there was the 10th green-and-gold point to give the squad the 10-8 victory.
Goalie Nick Grebe (Framingville, NY) saved 16 of 24 shots on goals and Aidan Vicidomini (Toms River, NJ) went 12-22 in face offs to also record eight ground balls.
The Golden Falcons are now 2-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play as they are back on their home turf at Tryon Field next Saturday, April 1st, to face the University of Bridgeport for a 7:30pm contest.
