Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician Men's Lacrosse red-shirt junior, Robert Grasso (Islip, NY) clinched his 100th career goal against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents Georgian Court University at Tryon Field Wednesday afternoon.
With 52-seconds left in the second quarter, the five-foot-ten attack caged his first goal of the contest to extend his Felician record with 100 goals in his career. In the afternoon contest, Grasso finished with three goals on eight shots, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Ultimately, the Golden Falcons dropped to the Lions 21-7. Alfonso Guerrero (Bellmore, NY), Jayden Basalatan (Matawan, NJ), Jabes Escalante (Chelsea, MA), and Timothy Manley Jr. (East Freetown, MA) would net a goal apiece in the loss, but it was not enough to surpass the Lions lead.
Georgian Court posted eight goals in the first quarter compared to Felician's one. The visitors toppled on nine more to enter intermission with a 17-3 advantage.
By the final stanza, Felician caged four to cap off the afternoon with a 21-7 loss.
The men's lacrosse squad drops to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play. They will be back in action on Tryon Field to host Dominican (N.Y.) for an evening match-up at 7:00pm.
