Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician men's lacrosse went into a stormy Saturday on April 1st to play Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent the University of Bridgeport for a 7:00pm start. Due to inclement weather, the game was pushed back to 8:00pm to ultimately be suspended from field complications.
On Thursday evening, both squads were able to resume play where the last event took place. The Golden Falcons held a 4-2 lead in the third quarter with 10:55 remaining.
The Purple Knights immediately caged a goal to trail by one. Alfonso Guerrero (Bellmore, NY) and Robert Grasso (Islip, NY) secured back-to-back goals to propel the green-and-gold to a 6-3 advantage. By the end of the third, Felician sat with a 7-5 lead to further extend it to 10-7 for the conference win.
Grasso finished the contest with four goals and five groundballs and Jabes Escalante (Chelsea, MA) caged three goals. Filipe Correia (Brick, NJ) and Jayden Basalatan (Matawan, NJ) recorded a goal each with Correia pacing the Golden Falcons with nine ground balls. Nick Grebe (Farmingville, NY) earned the win with eleven saves on 18 shots.
With the game being finalized, the Golden Falcons are officially 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the CACC. They will be at Riggin Memorial Field in East Rutherford, NJ on Saturday for a 6:00pm contest to host Wilmington (Del.).
