Men's Lacrosse Falls in Final Home Game of the Season

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician men's lacrosse was originally scheduled to play Dominican (N.Y.) University on April 15th, but due to inclement weather, the game was pushed to April 25th at Tryon Field. During the Tuesday afternoon Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up, the Golden Falcons dropped 11-6 after being shut out in the third quarter.

Jayden Basalatan (Matawan, NJ) caged the first Felician goal of the afternoon while Robert Grasso (Islip, NY) and Filipe Correia (Brick, NJ) recorded a goal apiece for the quick 3-0 advantage after the first. The Chargers would post back-to-back goals to tie the game at three, while Correia put the green-and-gold back on top, 4-3, on a Basalatan assisted goal. 

At the end of the second quarter, the Chargers held its first lead of the contest, 5-4 to ultimately improve that to 9-4 going into the final stanza. The Golden Falcons were not able to record a goal in the third, despite taking 10 shots, to chip away at the opposer lead.

Jabes Escalante (Chelsea, MA) broke the green-and-gold silence with a goal to ignite the fourth with 13 minutes left to play. The junior recorded the final goal for the squad to drop in its final home game of the 2023 season, 11-6.

The Golden Falcons are 3-8 overall and 2-4 in the CACC. They will be back in action in Waterbury, CT to face Post University on Friday at 2:00pm.
