RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician baseball finished their 2024 regular season with a 26-21 overall and 14-8 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record and secured the #2 seed in the North Division to have home field advantage for the First Round of the postseason on Friday, May 3.Â
The Golden Falcons, who are the reigning champs from the 2023 season, will be hosting the #3 seed in the north Caldwell University (10-24 / 9-14 CACC) at Breslin Field for a 1:00pm game one first pitch. The first round will be a best of a three game series and the winner will play the CACC overall #1 seed, Jefferson University, at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury, C.T. (host: Post University) at 11:00am.Â

Game One:Â
Felician found themselves in a eight run deficit with their first run of the game not being recorded until the sixth inning. However, a massive top half of the seventh featured Felician posting six runs on three hits by
Cole Porter (River Vale, N.J.),
Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, F.L.), and
Dauri Genao (West New York, N.J.) and a costly Cougar error. Soon after, Felician tallied four more runs compared to the Cougars one to be able to secure the first win of the series, 11-9.Â
Game Two:
Felician hosted the doubleheader this season and the Golden Falcons took the first game of the DH in seven innings, 11-1.
Jordan Savinon (Staten Island, N.Y.) pitched a stellar performance for the green-and-gold where he only allowed two hits through six innings and struck out five. Porter led the team with three RBI while Genao and
Jose David Medrano (North Bergen, N.J.) had two.Â
Game Three:
The Golden Falcons kept up their momentum from game one and shut out Caldwell, 8-0, to secure the DH sweep of their opponents.
Daniel Kiritsis (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) was the man on the mound for the shut out win in 5.0 innings pitched and four strike outs.
Ricky Voss (Eatontown, N.J.) jammed a homer on top of his perfect batting percentage throughout game two.Â
COUGARS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
- Three Cougar batters are posting averages above .300. Michael Cruz leads the team and is fourth in the CACC with a .377 batting average and tallied a total of 43 hits, 21 RBI, 8 doubles, and four home runs. Stephen Young Jr. posts a .301 with 34 hits and 22 RBI and Liam Lombardi is at .300 with 36 hits, and leads the team with 30 RBI.Â
- Zach Saunders and Christopher Bavo are swift on the bases with Saunders stealing six out of his nine attempted and Bavo is a perfect 5-5.
- Pitcher Brandon Scalisi recorded a 4.73 ERA going into the postseason with 39 strike outs - leading the bullpen - and a 5-4 record. Reliever, Nikko Matos is in a four way tie for fourth overall in the CACC with three saves. Felician pitcher - Gavin Enright (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) is one of those four included in that category.Â
GOLDEN FALCONS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
- Genao leads the team in his senior season with a .353 batting average and tallied 55 hits, 32 RBI, seven doubles, and three home runs. Right behind the senior is sophomore, Thomas Kendrick (Jackson, N.J.) who posted his 100th career hit alongside Walters a couple of weeks ago. Kendrick has a .331 batting average with 57 hits - leading the team - eight doubles, four triples, and one home run.Â
- Newcomer, Voss, has made an impactful impression on the squad. He leads the team in home runs (6) and RBI (33) this season and his third overall with a .315 batting average. Walters is tied with Genao with 32 RBI, but leads the team with 12 doubles.Â
- Mike Caldon (Matawan, N.J.) leads the conference and the Golden Falcons with 87 strike outs for a 4-3 record this season. Savinon is 4-0 from the mound with 28 strike outs and Nick DeCarlo (Jackson, N.J.) is fifth in the conference with 62 strike outs.Â
The CACC First Round will be selling tickets prior to entering Breslin Field Friday afternoon.Â
