Melbourne, FL – The Golden Falcons delivered a competitive performance on day three of the Space Coast Invitational, splitting their two contests. Exceptional pitching performances were the highlight, keeping Felician competitive in both matchups. In the first game, the Golden Falcons fell just short against Southern New Hampshire, losing 3-2. They bounced back in the second game, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Gannon.
Game One
In a tightly contested match-up, Felician narrowly fell to Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in a 3-2 defeat. Despite notable individual performances, defensive challenges and missed opportunities ultimately shaped the game's outcome. Hannah Ramirez delivered an exceptional performance, going a flawless 2-for-2 at the plate with two hit-by-pitches and scoring one of Felician's two runs. Ramirez exhibited outstanding plate discipline and aggressive base running. Meanwhile, Kimberly Torres contributed significantly with an RBI triple in the fifth inning, finishing the day 1-for-2 with two walks. In the circle, Riley Williams displayed resilience, pitching a complete game. Over seven innings, Williams allowed four hits, three runs (two earned), and recorded five strikeouts. However, a wild pitch during a crucial moment underscored the challenges posed by high-pressure situations. Felician mounted a late rally in the seventh inning, highlighted by Ramirez scoring his second run. Unfortunately, the comeback attempt was stifled by SNHU's solid defense. Earlier missed opportunities, including runners left in scoring position, proved costly for Felician's efforts.
Game Two
The second game of the double header, would also end in nail-biting fashion as the final score of the game was 1-0. Felician's offense struggled to build momentum, managing just three hits in the game. Hannah Ramirez led the effort with a 1-for-3 performance, while Sadie Kittow demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing two walks and scoring the team's lone run. Despite creating scoring chances, Felician left six runners stranded, including in high-pressure situations, which ultimately proved decisive in the narrow 1-0 victory. Jocelyn Moody dominated the circle, delivering an exceptional complete-game shutout, allowing only two hits, striking out three, and issuing no walks, effectively keeping Gannon's offense in check. Defensively, Felician showcased strong play with just one error and eleven assists, including a standout performance from Kailey Alas, who contributed five assists at third base. However, the team left six runners on base and struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities, with missed chances ultimately proving costly in the narrow loss.
