Historic Season Continues as Felician Softball Reaches CACC Semifinals

Rutherford, NJ - After a remarkable turnaround season, the Felician Golden Falcons are set to compete in the CACC Semifinals hosted by Wilmington University for the first time in program history. One year removed from missing the postseason entirely, Felician emerged as one of the conference's top teams in 2026, earning the No. 2 seed in the CACC Tournament after a dominant regular season campaign.

Blending youthful talent with veteran leadership, the Golden Falcons have quickly established themselves as one of the conference's most dangerous teams. Featuring an all-freshman infield, senior leadership in the outfield, and a steady junior presence behind the plate, Felician has developed into a balanced and confident squad while laying the foundation for a bright future under Head Coach Phil Delgado.

Felician closed the regular season with a 23-21 overall record and an impressive 14-4 mark in conference play. The Falcons were powered offensively by junior catcher/designated player Kimberly Torres, who cemented herself as THE premier players in the CACC this season. Torres led the conference in seven offensive categories while rewriting the Felician record book, recording her 100th career hit and setting the program's single-season hits record with postseason games still remaining.

Alongside Torres, freshman third baseman Karina De La Vega quickly became one of the conference's breakout stars. De La Vega earned CACC Rookie of the Year honors after an outstanding debut season and provided consistent production at the top of the lineup. Together, Torres and De La Vega have become the offensive spark that has fueled Felician throughout the season.

Inside the circle, senior Jocelyn Moody has served as the steady veteran leader for the Golden Falcons. Moody remained unbeaten in conference play during the regular season while posting a 3.60 ERA and consistently delivering dominant performances in key moments. Freshman utility player and pitcher Kelsey Vitalis has also played a crucial role throughout the season, giving Felician a reliable second option in the circle while contributing timely hitting in the middle of the lineup. Vitalis' versatility and composure have added another layer to Felician's success during her freshman campaign.

Felician now turns its attention to a semifinal matchup against University of Bridgeport after sweeping the Purple Knights in a doubleheader earlier this season. The Golden Falcons rallied for a 3-2 victory in Game One before securing a 5-4 win in Game Two, with the day highlighted by Torres recording the 100th hit of her career.

In the opener, Felician erased an early deficit behind timely RBI hits from Hannah Ramirez and De La Vega. De La Vega finished with three hits in the victory, while Moody delivered another dominant performance in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing just two runs and striking out six.

The Golden Falcons carried that momentum into Game Two, finishing with five runs on 10 hits. Brielle Cubala opened the scoring before Torres delivered her milestone hit in the second inning and later added a two-run home run in the fourth. Mikayla Brown paced the offense with three hits and two runs scored. Moody earned the start, while Vitalis shut the door with four innings of relief, striking out six to earn the save.

Both contests showcased the resilience and depth that have defined Felician's breakout season as the Golden Falcons prepare for their biggest postseason test yet.
