Nutley, NJ - Felician kept its season alive in the CACC First Round with a 4–2 win over Jefferson, marking a milestone moment for the program. With the victory, the Golden Falcons advance to the CACC Semifinals for the first time in program history, continuing a season that has been defined by a magical turnaround.
Kimberly Torres opened the bottom of the first with a solo home run to center, igniting the dugout and giving Felician an early spark. From there, the pressure never let up. Karina De La Vega reached and moved into scoring position, and Mikayla Brown followed by driving a double into the gap to bring home another run. With momentum fully on their side, the Falcons continued to execute situationally—Alyson Walling came through with an RBI single to push the lead to 3–0 before Jefferson could settle in.
That three-run first wasn't just a quick start—it dictated the pace of the game and forced Felician into a position of control from the outset.
Felician added an important insurance run in the fourth inning when Annika Smith drove a solo home run to center, extending the lead to 4–1 and giving the Falcons breathing room as the game moved into the later innings.
While the offense provided the early cushion, Jocelyn Moody took over from there.
Moody delivered a composed, commanding performance in the circle, going the distance while allowing just four hits and two runs. She consistently worked ahead in counts, limited hard contact, and erased traffic before it could turn into bigger innings. After allowing a run in the second and another in the fifth, Moody responded each time by shutting the door—retiring the side in order in multiple innings and preventing any momentum from building.
Her ability to control tempo was especially evident late. With Jefferson trying to mount a final push, Moody stayed poised, inducing weak contact and closing out the final two innings without allowing a run to secure the victory.
Offensively, Kimberly Torres, Mikayla Brown, Alyson Walling, and Annika Smith each drove in a run, accounting for all four of Felician's runs. The Falcons finished with seven hits, maximizing production in key moments rather than relying on volume.
The win carries added historical weight for Coach Delgado and the Felician softball program. Felician not only advances to the CACC Semifinals for the first time in program history, but continues a season-long climb that has seen the program go from missing the postseason a year ago to hosting—and winning—a playoff series on its home field.
Felician will now face Bridgeport in the CACC Semifinals, a team the Golden Falcons swept during the regular season, as they look to extend their postseason run.
